Since we launched our ONR Academy we’ve doubled the number of people being trained and brought down costs through better technology and a ‘little, local and often’ philosophy.
We started the ONR Academy a year ago to improve how we develop our most valuable asset – our people – and help us achieve our goal to be a high performing, sustainable organisation. It’s the first of our strategic improvement projects – big ticket items that will change the way we work in a fundamental way.
Our Head of Academy, John Male, says, “The Academy is already having a positive impact and in the longer term, it will help us meet the challenges we face – like having the skills to regulate a changing industry, having enough Suitably Qualified and Experienced Persons to be an effective regulator, and making sure we regulate proportionately and consistently.“
