Today, ONR fully implemented its new leadership arrangements, aligning with other nuclear regulators around the world.
The new arrangements see Mark Foy become ONR’s combined Chief Executive and Chief Nuclear Inspector. He is supported by Sarah High as Deputy Chief Executive, and Donald Urquhart as Executive Director of Operations, as well as the wider Senior Leadership Team, to sustain focus on ONR’s Strategy 2020-25, across regulatory operations, stakeholder engagement, people matters, and modernisation.
ONR’s Chair, Mark McAllister, said: “I would like to thank Adriènne Kelbie CBE, who stepped down on 31 May 2021, after more than five years as ONR’s Chief Executive.
“During her time at ONR, Adriènne has transformed the organisation into a mature, high performing regulator, strengthening culture, capability and resilience whilst driving diversity and inclusion, recognised by Her Majesty in the 2020 Queen’s Birthday Honours List.
“Everyone involved in the transition arrangements has worked hard to ensure the change was seamless, with structured and effective handovers and risk mitigation, and minimal disruption to regulatory operations.
“That means today we move forward to the new structure with confidence, enthusiasm, and a renewed focus, as we embark on the next chapter of ONR’s journey.”
