The Western European Nuclear Regulators' Association (WENRA) has considered the impact of the destruction of the Kakhovka dam on the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) in Ukraine and has issued a statement on behalf of its members, which includes ONR.
It concludes: “Based on the shutdown status of the six ZNPP reactors and the availability of cooling water supplies, WENRA considers that there is no immediate safety concern at the ZNPP resulting from the destruction of the Kakhovka dam."
