The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) has become a member of the Liverpool City Region Fair Employment Charter.
The Charter aims to celebrate good employers and helps drive up improved standards for employment practices to make the Liverpool region the fairest and most equitable place in the country to work or run a business.
The Charter also recognises those employers who pay the real living wage, engage meaningfully with trade unions, and provide staff with opportunities to progress and thrive in their careers.
To become a member of the Charter, ONR was robustly assessed against four pillars: healthy, fair, inclusive and just.
Dave Caton, ONR’s Director of Human Resources, said: “‘We’re proud to be part of the Charter as it’s another formal accreditation that really shows the work we’re doing to make ONR a rewarding employer and how important our people are to us.
“Creating an inclusive culture is not an optional exercise, it enables us to capitalise on our diverse skills, perspectives and experiences so we can be a better regulator and employer of choice.”
ONR has previously been recognised for its commitment to Diversity and Inclusion (D&I) by gaining accreditation to the National Equality Standard (NES).
In 2023, ONR was also reaccredited with disability confident leader status for a further three years.
The Fair Employment Charter, established by the Liverpool City Region Mayor’s office, has involved work with trade unions, small and large businesses and staff across many organisations to ensure that it reflects the needs, wants and priorities of staff and senior business leaders.
