XPO Transport Solutions UK Ltd complies with improvement notice

The Office for Nuclear Regulation can confirm that XPO Transport Solutions UK Ltd has complied with an improvement notice served in October 2024.

The notice was served after an XPO Transport Solutions UK Ltd employee suffered serious leg injuries due to an accident involving a dropped vending machine at Dungeness B power station in Kent.

There was no risk to nuclear safety, the public or the environment as a result of the incident which occurred in March 2024.

ONR has worked closely with the company which has demonstrated that arrangements are now in place to appropriately assess when the equipment involved in the incident, a stair climber, can be used in any future work.

ONR is therefore satisfied that the company has completed the necessary requirements of the notice.

ONR issued the improvement notice to XPO Transport Solutions UK Ltd under the Health and Safety at Works etc. Act 1974 Section 2(1) The Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, Regulation 4(2).
