The information provided covers the period for any new starters from 21 January 2020 until 21 January 2025 (i.e. the five years preceding the date of your request).
1. The total number of staff who have not successfully completed their probation period within the ONR during the past five years.
Eleven members of ONR staff did not successfully complete their probation period during the past five years. Failure to complete probation was due to nine resignations, one dismissal, and one fixed term appointment (FTA) ending.
2. The points at which these probation failures occurred, such as:
within the first 6 months (mid-point formal review):
- Four members of ONR staff did not complete their probation within the first six months of joining. This was due to them resigning before the formal 6-month probation review;
- One member of ONR staff did not complete their probation within the first six months of joining. This was due to them being on a FTA which ended before the formal 6-month probation review; and,
- One member of ONR staff did not complete their probation within the first six months of joining. This was due to them being dismissed before the formal 6-month probation review.
within the first 12 months (final formal review):
- Five members of ONR staff did not complete their probation within the first twelve months (after six months but within twelve months). This was due to their resignation before their formal 12-month probation review.
