The policy sets out the guiding principles ONR will apply to the disclosure of information, in its communications and engagement with interested stakeholders and the wider public. It also demonstrates our ambition to provide greater opportunities for two-way engagement and ensures our communications are accessible to everybody as we embed our principles – accessibility, confidence and accountability.

We have committed in our Strategy 2020-25 to consider how we reduce our environmental and carbon impact in line with broader government objectives for net zero. Our Statement of Intent for ONR's environmental policy sets out our commitment to minimising and measuring the environmental impact of our operations, while we develop our environmental policy.

As set out in the Energy Act 2013, which established ONR, we are able to recover the majority of our costs from dutyholders. As we strive to inspire a climate of respect, trust and confidence among our stakeholders, this booklet clearly explains how our charging system works.
