Executive summary
Purpose of Intervention
This was one of a series of planned Licence Condition (LC) compliance inspections of the Dungeness A Site for 2019/20.
The aims of the inspection were to:
- Assess the licensee’s compliance procedures and their implementation for the consignment of nuclear matter under LC5.
- Assess the adequacy of the licensee’s arrangements for making and storing documents, records, authorities and certificates made under LC6.
- Review the licensee’s reference to its nuclear safety committee and the compliance with the committees approved terms of reference under LC13.
Interventions Carried Out by ONR
I carried out inspection at site of the implementation of the licensee’s LC5 procedures & LC6 arrangements.
I also carried out a review of the operation of the licensee’s nuclear safety committee.

Key Findings, Inspector's Opinions and Reasons for Judgements Made
From the evidence examined I judged that the licensee’s implementation of its procedures and arrangements for LC’s 5 & 6 is adequate.
I also judge that the licensee seeks advice from its nuclear safety committee in accordance with its arrangements and that the committee operates within it’s approved terms of reference.
Conclusion of Intervention
ONR is satisfied with the implementation of the licensee’s LC5 procedures & LC6 arrangements.
ONR is also satisfied with the operation of the licensee’s nuclear safety committee constituted under LC13.
