Aim of inspection
REVISS Services (UK) Limited has requested a 6-month extension to the GB/3962A certificate, which expires on 31 March 2023.
This is being assessed by ONR in accordance with TRA-PER-GD-005. The permissioning strategy has been approved by the Transport Competent Authority under PR-01096. ONR's assessment of the extension request will be predominantly via inspection.
The inspection will also address general Class 7 dangerous goods transport compliance of REVISS and follow-up on the transport incident in December 2022 (INF-2609 refers) - see the inspection scope below.

Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made
The inspectors reviewed a range of topics and identified a number of examples of the dutyholder meeting relevant good practice in reducing risk to levels that are as low as reasonably practicable, including Management Systems, development and implementation of Local Rules, the appointment and availability of Radiation Protection Advisors and Dangerous Goods Safety Advisors, and the Training and Competence of employees.
Conclusion
The inspectors identified several elements of good practice where the dutyholder had met the requirements of the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 and The Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017.
The inspectors found shortfalls relating to the radiation risk assessment.
A regulatory issue has been raised to track and manage these shortfalls towards resolution.
