Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made
In accordance with the Office for Nuclear Regulation’s (ONR’s) Dungeness B (DNB) intervention plan, ONR performs a series of planned compliance inspections of identified licence conditions (LCs) and other applicable legislation, to ensure that DNB is meeting its legal requirements.
LC25 requires that “ensure that adequate records are made of the operation, inspection and maintenance of any plant which may affect safety.”
During this unannounced inspection ONR sampled a number of operational record types including operational quality plans, control room logs and defueling operations records.
ONR found that DNB was making appropriate records and those sampled were being made to a high standard with only minor areas for potential improvement being identified which have been fed back to the licensee.
Conclusion
I judge that an inspection rating of Green (no formal action) is appropriate for LC25. This is because I found that DNB was able to demonstrate that it is making appropriate operational records to an appropriate standard.
