Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made

Mistras engineering is a small part of Mistras Group Ltd (Registration 01761967). Mistras Group Ltd provide support functions, including management systems and HR. The latter is a global enterprise. Mistras engineering is a small premises, with 3 radiographers, currently two apprentices, and office staff. They provide non-destructive testing, both on-site and lab based. They carry out circa 10 NDT site visits per month, using 3 x Sentinel 880 Gamma projectors (Se-75 sealed sources). The projectors/type A packages use DU as a radiation shield/transport package; the projectors are known to ONR safeguards. The site visits are within the NE of England, with the projectors going out and returning within a day. Thematic areas inspected during the visit lead to the attached RAG ratings. I believe this company to be low risk for transport activities, and unless circumstances change or there is an incident do not require a compliance inspection for five years.

Conclusion

The company meets the requirements of ADR/CDG2009. I believe this company to be low risk for transport activities, and unless circumstances change or there is an incident do not require a compliance inspection for five years.
