This inspection was carried out as a response to an unplanned interaction with an Extran Medica driver at Chieveley Services.
I was stopping at the services after attending a dutyholder premises in Abingdon and spotted the vehicle (KP22 PXJ) in the service station car park.
The vehicle had no placards/orange plates when I arrived at the services however after returning to my car I noticed that the front Orange plate had been opened but without any placards being placed on the vehicle. This is not compliant with ADR Section 5.3 and as such made the decision to approach the driver and query the status of the vehicle (whether dangerous goods were on-board) and understand why the vehicle was not correctly placarded/plated.
Conclusion
The inspection findings were presented to the drivers during of the inspection and some advice provided. There were no significant non-compliances identified.
