The Carriage of Dangerous Goods (CDG) (Amendment) Regulations 2019 came into force on 21 April 2020 for Class 7 goods (radioactive material), after a transition period of 12 months.
These amendment regulations amended the Carriage of Dangerous Goods and Use of Transportable Pressure Equipment Regulations 2009 (CDG09).
If you are a dutyholder for the transport of radioactive materials, or appointed as a Radiation Protection Advisor (RPA) to a transport dutyholder, it is vital that you are aware of the changes these Regulations have introduced to the way in which Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017 (IRR17) Regulation 8 transport Radiation Risk Assessments (RRAs) are used.
