Defence sites

AWE Aldermaston covers a site of approximately 750 acres. Once a wartime airfield, today Aldermaston undertakes advanced research, design and manufacturing.

A former munitions factory, AWE Burghfield is a 225-acre site where warheads are assembled and maintained while in service, and decommissioned when out of service.

His Majesty's Naval Base (HMNB) Clyde commonly known throughout the Navy as Faslane is the Royal Navy's main presence in Scotland. It is home to the core of the Submarine Service, including the nation's nuclear deterrent, and the new generation of hunter-killer submarines.

BAESML provide and operate facilities to design, manufacture, construct, test, and commission nuclear powered submarines for the Royal Navy. Site based in Barrow.

Babcock International Group owns and operates the main refit, maintenance and workshop area of the 330 acre naval site at Devonport, known as Devonport Royal Dockyard.

Rolls-Royce Submarines Limited (RRSL) operates two nuclear licensed sites, both wholly within its site at Raynesway, Derby; the Nuclear Fuel Production Plant site, and the Neptune Reactor site.

Babcock own and operate Rosyth Dockyard in Fife. The Rosyth facility is one of the largest waterside manufacturing facilities in the UK.
