On 24 October the UK Department of Energy and Climate Change (DECC) launched a Call for Evidence for its Balance of Competences Energy Review. Further information on the Call for Evidence and its supporting legal annex are available on DECC's website at .
A number of stakeholder workshops are being held as part of this process including a workshop specifically on ‘Nuclear, protection from the harmful effects of ionising radiation and the Euratom Treaty’.
If you would like to attend this workshop or any of the other workshops please email balanceofcompetence@decc.gsi.gov.uk to register your interest and to receive exact details of location and timing.
The workshop will be held under Chatham House Rule which means that whilst a note of the discussion will be made and used as part of the evidence base for the report, specific points will not be attributed to individuals or organisations participating in a stakeholder workshop. You may also find it helpful to view a factsheet prepared by DECC summarising the scope of the Review. The Energy Review will not consider climate change and international negotiations on climate change, greenhouse gas emissions nor the EU Emissions Trading Scheme (EU-ETS). Those issues were considered in the Environment and Climate Change Review earlier this year and a report will be published at the end of the year.
