The Office for Nuclear Regulation (ONR) has served improvement notices on EDF and Trillium Flow Services UK Ltd following an incident at Dungeness B power station in Kent.
The incident occurred in June 2022 and resulted in a contractor sustaining injuries to their foot.
There were no consequences to the public or the environment as a result of the incident.
ONR continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and this has resulted in an improvement notice being issued to EDF under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998, Regulation 8(1) and the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999, Regulation 12(1)(a).
A notice has also been served on Trillium Flow Services UK Ltd under the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations, Regulation 3(1).
ONR is continuing its investigation into the incident so cannot publicly discuss any further details at this stage.
EDF and Trillium Flow Services UK Ltd based in Alloa, Scotland have until 31 May 2023 to comply with the improvement notices.
