Information requested
Some inspector roles advertised on your website (Nuclear Safety Inspector – Radiation Protection and Nuclear Safety Inspector – Human Factors) have different rates of pay to others (Nuclear Safeguards Inspector) despite being the same ‘band’.
- Please send me a full list of pay scales for all ONR inspector roles.
- Please also provide me with a breakdown of:
- How many men and women are in each of these roles.
- How many BAME inspectors are in each of the roles.
- The average age of people in each of the roles.
- Please explain why there is a difference in rates of pay for ONR inspectors.

The four different specialisms at inspector grade are:
- Safety
- Security
- Conventional Health & Safety and Fire
- Security & Safeguards
The pay is different between the specialisms to reflect the scarcity of the market skills, the technical expertise and the experience in the nuclear industry.
