Information requested

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information from you:

  • The number of non-fatal injuries on the Hinkley Point C site since July 2022.
  • The number of fatal injuries on the Hinkley Point C site since July 2022.

If possible, I kindly request that you also provide the current status regarding the application of Health and Safety Executive measures among BYLOR JV, NNB Generation Company, and REEL UK at the Hinkley Point C construction site.

Information released

I can confirm that under s.1 of the FOIA, we do hold this information. Please see below for our response.

  • There have been 46 non-fatal injuries on the Hinkley Point C site reported to ONR since July 2022.
  • There has been one fatal injury on the Hinkley Point C site reported to ONR since July 2022.

With regards to the request for an update on the current status, the enforcement action referred to above relates to contraventions under the requirements of Article 22 of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005. Enforcement Notices were served on NNB Generation Company Ltd, Bouygues Travaux Publics SAS and Laing O’Rourke Construction Limited (who are the joint venture partners in BYLOR JV) and REEL UK Ltd. All dutyholders have complied with the notices.
