Information released
Question 1
Please see Annex A for a table of our pay ranges for Bands 1 to 6 and Degree Level Apprentices that were in effect between 1 April 2023 – 31 March 2024. Pay rates are not divided into London and National Rates. If staff work permanently within the administration area covered by the Greater London Assembly, they receive a London Weighting Allowance in addition to their salary.
Question 2
Our grades are comparable to Civil Service Grades. We do not base grades on JEGS scores.
Question 3
In addition to our answer to question 1, we paid the following specialist allowances between 1 April 2023 – 31 March 2024:
- London Weighting Allowance – consolidated – annual full time equivalent amount was £4,052;
- Market Rate Allowance – consolidated – annual amount ranges from £1,000 to £14,000; and,
- Recruitment Allowance – consolidated – annual amount ranges from £4,563 to £20,000.
Please note, the Recruitment Allowance is dependent on role, recognising the retention and attraction challenges associated with recruiting for niche roles. This data was accurate up to 31 March 2024.
