- Release of information under: FOI
I wish to make a FOI request regarding the decommissioning of Dungeness B Nuclear Power Station.
My query is regarding the programming of the operations to detension the BBRV prestressing tendons used to maintain the security of the R21 and R22 concrete pressure vessels, now that these are no longer in any danger, which operations must be completed before any demolition can be safely carried out.
I therefore request that you now detail to me the programme for detensioning these tendons.
Information released
We confirm that under s.1 of the FOIA, we do not hold the information you have requested.
ONR is not responsible for programming or timescales related to tendon detensioning. This is managed by the dutyholder, whom in this case is Nuclear Restoration Services (NRS).
Queries or FOI requests about their decommissioning programme timescales should be directed to the NRS via enquiries@nrservices.uk.
Further information
We understand you believe you may hold information relevant to safety. You refer specifically to the R21 and R22 concrete pressure vessels BBRV prestressing tendons. For clarity, this system is subject to periodic maintenance and inspection.
If you hold information that you consider relevant to safety, including specific technical details or potential knowledge gaps, we strongly suggest you submit this through our ‘Report a concern’ page without undue delay.
This will ensure any relevant information can be appropriately reviewed through the proper regulatory channels, regardless of the dutyholder’s programme or project stage.
