Executive summary

Purpose of Intervention

This inspection, one of a series of planned inspections for 2020/21 at the GE Healthcare Ltd Grove Centre licensed nuclear site, was undertaken to judge compliance with licence condition (LC) 6 – Documents, records, authorities and certificates.

Interventions Carried Out by ONR

During this inspection we assessed the adequacy of the licensee’s arrangements for the preservation of documents, records, authorities and certificates made under LC6 and inspected the implementation of these arrangements.

The site safety inspector also held a number of meetings with licensee personnel whilst on site.

Key Findings, Inspector's Opinions and Reasons for Judgements Made

From the evidence seen during the inspection we are satisfied that the licensee’s LC6 arrangements, and their implementation, are adequate.

During a previous inspection a minor shortfall with the licensee’s compliance arrangements for LC4 was identified.  Evidence was presented to demonstrate that the licensee has adequately addressed this shortfall.

A minor shortfall with the licensee’s LC32 arrangements which resulted in an accumulation of radioactive waste at the site has been adequately addressed.

Conclusion of Intervention

Documents, records, authorities and certificates are being adequately managed on site in accordance with the requirements of site licence condition 6.
