Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made
I carried out a themed LC19, LC20, LC21 and LC22 inspection at the Magnox Ltd Berkeley site. I reviewed the arrangements for these LCs and was able to establish the “golden thread” in the management system for them. I examined the arrangements for the construction of the plant including modifications during construction, commissioning and any modifications conducted post-commissioning, in accordance with the management arrangements, for the Magnox Ltd Berkeley interim storage facility and assessed that adequate arrangements were in place.
Conclusion
In my opinion, the Licensee's making and implementation of arrangements for compliance with LC19, LC20, LC21 and LC22 are adequate. My assessment of the arrangements for the construction of the plant including commissioning and any modifications to the ISF, were adequate. During my previous inspection, I had undertaken a plant walk down of the ISF, and it was my opinion these arrangements were being adequately implemented. I therefore concluded that this inspection identified no further matters that may impact significantly on nuclear safety.
