The purpose of the inspection was to review Applus UK Ltd.'s arrangements for class 7 radioactive material for road transport, covering consignee, carrier and consignor duties.

Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made

The inspector reviewed a range of topics and identified a number of examples of Applus UK Ltd meeting relevant good practice in reducing risk to levels that are ALARP. These included global annual safety awareness training for all staff, and bi-monthly Safety Champions Forum and Radiation Safety Forum meetings. No non-compliances were identified during the inspection.

Conclusion

The inspection findings were presented to Applus UK Ltd at the close of the inspection. No non-compliances were identified.  I judged an overall inspection rating of green was appropriate for this inspection.
