Key findings, inspector's opinions and reasons for judgement made
The inspection involved discussions with staff from EDF Energy Nuclear Generation Limited regarding the governance and oversight of the station's emergency arrangements, an examination of related records and documents, and a walkdown of the station's emergency facilities and equipment.
We identified some minor shortfalls with the licensee compliance arrangements, insofar as a small number of local arrangements had been superseded by corporate arrangements.
We were however satisfied that the station senior management team were engaged and providing appropriate oversight and support to the stations emergency arrangements.
Conclusion
Based on the evidence sampled, we were satisfied that there are no significant shortfalls in the governance and oversight of the licensee’s emergency arrangements. We therefore rated the inspection ‘Green’ (no formal action) against licence condition 11 – emergency arrangements.
